    POSITION(S): The John W. Altman Institute for Entrepreneurship in the Farmer School of Business at Miami University invites applications for TWO Assistant Director positions: Assistant Director for the Startup and Venture Capital Track and Assistant Director for the Corporate Innovation Track. Each Assistant Director will have a range of responsibilities related to advancing the co-curricular, teaching, and service activities in the John W. Altman Institute for Entrepreneurship for corporate innovation.

    BACKGROUND: The John W. Altman Institute for Entrepreneurship is housed in the Department of Entrepreneurship, winner of the USASBE Model Program Award in 2024 as the top entrepreneurship program in world and ranked among the Top 10 public schools for undergraduate entrepreneurship studies for sixteen consecutive years in The Princeton Review® and Entrepreneur Magazine annual ranking of the Top 50 Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Programs in the world (#7 overall globally and #1 in Ohio in 2024), combines strong academic scholarship and rigorous theoretical and empirical research with immersive, practice-based learning opportunities for students. Winner of the NASDAQ Center of Entrepreneurial Excellence Award in 2020 given annually by NASDAQ and the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers (GCEC) to the top entrepreneurship institute in the world, the John W.     REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree; understanding of entrepreneurship (as demonstrated by coursework or professional experience).

    DESIRED: Consideration may be given to candidates with a M.B.A. or advanced degree in related field; at least 3 years of experience in business or related field; experience as the founder of a startup or social enterprise, as an angel or institutional investor, or as a director or member of an accelerator for startups or social enterprises; experience with external corporate relations and/or executive level outreach and cultivation activities; experience with fundraising for universities and/or collegiate centers or institutes, non-profits and/or social enterprises; experience with startups, venture capital, social entrepreneurship, impact investing, corporate innovation, or creativity in entrepreneurial ecosystems; and experience developing and promoting new programs or events; understanding of executive level outreach and cultivation activities; excellent written and oral presentation skills; willingness to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends; ability to adapt within an entrepreneurial start-up environment; and willingness to travel.
