    The Department of Entrepreneurship in the Farmer School of Business at Miami University invite applications for the position of Chair in the Department of Entrepreneurship as an Associate Professor or Full Professor in Entrepreneurship. The Department Chair is responsible for the operation of the department, including budgeting, staffing, scheduling, supervision, and mentoring; the department chair will serve as a member of the Farmer School of Business's Executive Committee and will report to the Associate Dean of Faculty Excellence of the Farmer School of Business. Appointment begins July 1, 2025. 

    Background: The Department of Entrepreneurship combines strong academic scholarship and rigorous theoretical and empirical research with immersive, practice-based learning opportunities for students in startup and venture capital, social entrepreneurship and impact investing, corporate innovation and technology commercialization, and creativity and entrepreneurial thinking. The Department of Entrepreneurship, winner of the USASBE Model Program Award in 2024 as the top entrepreneurship program in the world, has ranked among the Top 10 public schools for undergraduate entrepreneurship studies for sixteen consecutive years in The Princeton Review® and Entrepreneur Magazine annual rankings (#7 overall globally, #2 overall in the Midwest, and #1 in Ohio in 2024).     Required: Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship, Management, or a closely related discipline applicable to teaching, research, and scholarship in the entrepreneurship area by date of appointment. For appointment as an Associate Professor, applicants must have demonstrated evidence of strong research with publications in high quality journals in the area of Entrepreneurship and a teaching portfolio in the area of Entrepreneurship. For appointment as a Full Professor, applicants must have a well-established record of publications in high quality journals in the area of Entrepreneurship, including journals listed on the Financial Times 50 (FT50), and a well-established teaching portfolio in the area of Entrepreneurship.

    Consideration may be given to candidates with demonstrated effectiveness in an administrative capacity and the ability to interact with a wide range of constituents including faculty, students, administration, alumni, and the business community.
