Two Assistant Professors
The Management, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (MIE) Department in the Poole College of Management at North Carolina State University is seeking two tenure-track Assistant Professors: one in the area of Strategy and one in Entrepreneurship.
Management, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (MIE) Department
The MIE Department embodies excellence in research, teaching and industry engagement in the areas of management, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Highly interdisciplinary in nature, the MIE department has 25 full-time tenure track and professional (non tenure track) faculty (https://poole.ncsu.edu/group/mie/). The MIE department is a diverse group of scholars whose research focuses on leadership, human resource management, innovation management, entrepreneurship, strategy, organizational behavior, and technology commercialization.
MIE faculty conduct high-quality, impactful research published in such journals as AMR, AMJ, SMJ, JAP, JOM, Org. Science, Mgt. Science, Human Relations, Personnel Psychology, OBHDP, SEJ, JBV, ETP, JIBS, JMS, HBR, Sloan Management Review, among others. Faculty hold or have held roles as Associate Editors for such journals as AMR, AMJ, GOM, JBV, ETP, JBVI, Family Business Review and SEJ.
The department contributes to the BS Business Administration degree and the MBA degree. MIE is one of four departments in Poole College of Management, the others being Accounting, Business Management (which houses Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain and IT/Analytics) and Economics. The Position
Successful candidates will be expected to conduct high-impact research that produces publications in high-quality peer-reviewed journals and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in one or more of the following areas: strategy, entrepreneurship, corporate innovation, and sustainability. Successful candidates will provide service to the department, college and university.
We are particularly interested in candidates with a willingness to work within their area and across the department, the desire to develop and maintain productive relationships with students and colleagues, and the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and engage diverse audiences effectively.
These positions offer an exciting opportunity to contribute to the academic life of our department and college while shaping future leaders. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. The appointment will begin on July 1, 2025.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates will possess the required doctor's degree and the credentials to be appointed at the rank of Assistant Professor in the department.
