Invitation to Apply for Attendance at the NeuB Doctoral/Early Career Consortium at the AoM Meeting in Copenhagen

The Organizational Neuroscience and Biology (NeuB) interest group of the Academy of Management will be hosting a doctoral/early career consortium. It will take place on Friday, July 25, 2025, 9 am – 5 pm, at the Copenhagen Business School. The overall goal of the consortium is to provide attendees with guidance on how they can incorporate neuroscience and biology concepts/methods into their research. To accomplish this goal, the consortium will be highly interactive between presenters, facilitators, and attendees.
The early part of the consortium will feature a panel discussion involving experts in organizational neuroscience and biology, as well as some introductions of the many methodological tools or options that are available to researchers. Ample time will be included for attendees' Q&As. A key assumption is that attendees may not currently have specific familiarity with organizational neuroscience or biology, although they can envision the usefulness of neuroscience/biology concepts and tools.
The afternoon portion of the consortium will feature roundtable discussions. At each table, there will be a discussion of how neuroscience or biology concepts/methods might apply to the specific research interests or programs of individual attendees. Subject matter experts will be assigned as facilitators at respective tables.
Attendance is by invitation only. To be accepted for the consortium, individuals must:
1. Be a member of the AOM NeuB Interest Group
2. Be either a doctoral student, or non-tenured faculty member (i.e. within 7 years from their Ph.D.)
3. Submit an approximately 500-word summary of how the individual envisions neuroscience or biology concepts/methods as being specifically applicable to that person's research interests or program (e.g., management topics that are of specific interest to the attendee, and how the attendee currently envisions the applicability of neuroscience or biology to those topics)
Note that lunch will be provided. We encourage applications across a spectrum of interests, including attendees who identify as either "micro" or "macro". If you have any questions, feel free to contact any of the four organizers.
Applications must be received by April 30, 2025. Submitters will be notified whether they can participate in the event by May 15, 2025, and are asked to confirm their participation by May 30th, 2025. Please send your application to Georgios Christopoulos (CGeorgios@ntu.edu.sg) with the subject theme "AOM NeuB PDW PHD SYMPOSIUM 2025". In addition to the summary mentioned above, be sure to indicate (1) whether you are currently a member of the NeuB Interest Group; (2) the name of your university; (3) your current position at that university; and (4) when you expect to receive your Ph.D., or alternatively, if you already have a Ph.D., when you received it.
