Call for Submissions: PDW on Uncertainty and Entrepreneurship

We are thrilled to invite you to our Professional Development Workshop (PDW): "Navigating Uncertainty in Entrepreneurship: Theoretical and Practical Perspectives " at the Academy of Management Annual Meeting 2025 in Copenhagen!

    Why join?

As a field of study and practice, entrepreneurship encompasses diverse theoretical perspectives and frameworks for understanding the entrepreneurial process. This PDW presents and discusses three of the most prominent theoretical approaches in the entrepreneurship literature: the opportunity creation perspective, the judgment-based approach, and the theory-based view. The senior scholars who have developed and applied these perspectives will review the key points of each approach and draw out points of agreement and disagreement among them (and other ideas in entrepreneurship theory), focusing on the key question of how each perspective informs our understanding of entrepreneurial decision-making under uncertainty. Key decisions of interest include venture formation, resource accumulation, and the creation and organization of markets.
