We are happy to invite submissions of short papers to the EGOS sub-theme 43 "Computer Says 'Yes': Organizing for Creativity and Innovating along the Human–Machine Interface."

The human-machine interface pervades many areas of life. In organizations, these interfaces result in emergence of metahuman systems in which machines and humans learn from and with each other. In these systems, creativity and innovation assume a special place as they are often considered exclusive to human agency, all while machines challenge human creativity and uniqueness. Individuals and groups embedded in metahuman systems likely experience the creative process differently from humans only. We seek to deepen the awareness of organizational processes that are determined by the relationship between humans and machines. We invite scholars to focus on creativity as a core component of human intelligence, and by extension innovation. We suggest exploring the nexus of human-machine interactions in organizational creativity and innovation processes: Does the human-machine interface require us to re-evaluate creativity as a prominent human quality? How does subsequent reconfiguration of creative processes, practices, and values proceed in organizations?

Short papers of 3000 words are due 7th January 2025, 23:59 CET (deadline for submission).
