The Department of Entrepreneurship in the Farmer School of Business at Miami University invites applications for Assistant Professor or Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship (tenure track) to teach entrepreneurship; maintain an active research program and publish in highly regarded management and entrepreneurship journals; advise students; and provide service to the institution. The appointment begins Fall 2025.
Background: The Department of Entrepreneurship, winner of the USASBE Model Entrepreneurship Program Award in 2024 as the top entrepreneurship program in world and ranked among the Top 10 public schools for undergraduate entrepreneurship studies for sixteen consecutive years in The Princeton Review® and Entrepreneur Magazine annual ranking of the Top 50 Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Programs in the world (#7 overall globally, #2 overall in the Midwest, and #1 in Ohio in 2024), combines strong academic scholarship and rigorous theoretical and empirical research with immersive, practice-based learning opportunities for students in startup and venture capital, social entrepreneurship and impact investing, corporate innovation and technology commercialization, and creativity and entrepreneurial thinking. Distinguishing features include small class sizes and teacher-scholars with founder experience that deliver personalized learning, an interdisciplinary focus that engages students from every undergraduate major across campus, immersive, practice-based experiential learning opportunities in every class and in every co-curricular program, and integration with ecosystem builders across the U.S.
The Department of Entrepreneurship is home to leading scholarly academic research on social and faith-based entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship in developing countries, social movements and collective action, social and institutional change, and new venture creation/growth, venture capital and private equity investment. Entrepreneurship research faculty have ranked among the Top 50 in the Global University Entrepreneurship Research Productivity Rankings produced annually by the TCU Neeley School of Business for the past three consecutive years-#26 in 2024, #33 in 2023, and #23 in 2022. Our faculty publish regularly in top management and entrepreneurship journals, including the Academy of Management Journal, the Strategic Management Journal, the Journal of Business Venturing, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, the Journal of Management, the Journal of Business Ethics, and Organization Science, among many others.

Required: Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship or a closely related field by date of appointment for appointment as an Assistant Professor. ABDs may apply but all degree requirements must be completed by date of appointment. Doctorate is required by December 31, 2025. For appointment as an Associate Professor, applicants must have a doctorate in Entrepreneurship or a closely related field by date of appointment and have demonstrated evidence of strong research with publications in high quality journals in the area of Entrepreneurship and a teaching portfolio in the area of Entrepreneurship.
Consideration may be given to candidates with a proficiency in empirical research in the field of entrepreneurship; a commitment to excellence in teaching high-quality undergraduate and graduate entrepreneurship courses; or the ability and desire to conduct empirical entrepreneurship research for publication in highly-regarded refereed management and/or entrepreneurship journals; with interest and ability to teach courses in entrepreneurship and in their field of research at both the undergraduate and Master's level.
