Assistant/Associate Professor in Sustainability Management,
ESCP Business School (Madrid Campus)
The Sustainability Department of ESCP Business School invites applications for one faculty position at the Assistant/Associate level (tenure-track for entry positions). The position is based on our Madrid Campus (we recently advertised another one in Paris) and is to be filled by September 2025.
We are looking for candidates with a track record of publications and/or promising academic submissions in top-quality journals in the Sustainability Management field, who will actively contribute to research, teaching, and program coordination in this area. Candidates should demonstrate excellent teaching capabilities, a strong collaborative mindset, and a willingness to contribute to the Department's academic responsibilities. Candidates must have a sound foundation of sustainability and the ability to teach courses covering both, sustainability challenges (e.g., climate change, biodiversity, other impact assessments) and sustainability management (e.g., governance, business models, supply chain, reporting).
Teaching should address different audiences, from undergraduates to executives. Additionally, at least one of the following fields is desirable:
- Sustainable finance, corporate governance and corporate sustainability;
- Life cycle assessment, sustainable supply chain/logistics and product/service impact measurement.
The Sustainability Department is composed of a multi-disciplinary team of 17 full-time faculty and 5 affiliate professors, located across our European Campuses, who have developed a strong expertise in sustainability. We integrate various fields of origin: organization theory, supply chain management, business model design, governance, responsible and sustainable consumption, among others. We have varied research interests, backgrounds and methodological approaches but we are all striving for an uncompromising ambition to change business research, curricula and practice in line with a strong sustainability approach. Our faculty are publishing in leading academic journals such as the Academy of Management Annals, Journal of Management Studies, Organization Studies, Journal of Business Ethics, Business Strategy and the Environment, Journal of World Business, Ecological Economics, Journal of Consumer Research, PNAS, among others.
ESCP Business School, specifically the Madrid Campus, is experiencing a significant growth.
Applications should include: (1) A cover letter. (2) Your curriculum vitae with a list of publications (please indicate your proficiency in Spanish and whether you have a work permit for Spain, or if you are an EU resident). (3) Your "sustainability statement as a scholar" sharing your vision and your personal way of embodying the role of professor in sustainability management. (4) Teaching evaluations for the past two years (if applicable). (5) Two references (providing contact details will be enough at the initial application stage).
You can submit your application, as one PDF file, to the Sustainability Department until February, 21st 2025: SustDepartment@escp.eu. For further information contact: Ramon Fisac, Professor of Sustainability on the Madrid Campus (rfisac@escp.eu), or Julien Schmitt, Coordinator of the Sustainability Department (jschmitt@escp.eu).
