    Position Details
    The Department Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Texas Christian University invites applications and nominations for a position as Professor of Professional Practice within the Neeley School of Business. Rank will depend upon qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will begin employment in August, 2021.

    Description
    The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate significant accomplishments in both the teaching and practice of law and entrepreneurship. Primary responsibilities will include acting as the course coordinator for undergraduate and graduate courses in the legal and regulatory environment affecting new and established ventures. The position may also allow opportunities to develop and teach other entrepreneurship and/or innovation courses. Collegiality and a demonstrated ability to work with others are important. The teaching load and salary are competitive and commensurate with qualifications.

    School/College Description
    The TCU Neeley School of Business is comprised of six academic departments including Accounting, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Information Systems and Supply Chain Management, Management and Leadership, and Marketing. The TCU Neeley School of Business has an annual enrollment of 2,821 (2019-2020) undergraduate and graduate students, 215 employees and 24,595 alumni. The Neeley School is proud to be fully accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International) for our undergraduate and graduate programs. In addition, our Accounting department is among an elite number (less than 200) accredited by AACSB.

    TCU Neeley been nationally ranked in several outlets, including 31st by Poets and Quants in their recent rankings of Best Undergraduate Business Programs. Careers and Employment Opportunities was ranked at #10 in the U.S. and #1 in Texas by Poets & Quants. TCU Neeley was ranked 15th in undergraduate Entrepreneurial Studies in 2020 according to The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur magazine. The MBA program has been ranked 45th in the U.S. by The Economist, and 1st for MBA Faculty Quality. The undergraduate supply chain program was ranked 14th in North America and the graduate supply chain program was ranked 16th in North America by Gartner. The Executive MBA program was ranked 18th in the world, 8th in the U.S. and 1st in Texas by The Economist. TCU's accounting graduates regularly achieve the #1 CPA exam pass rate in Texas. The accounting program was ranked 20th in the U.S. for undergraduate programs and 21st among graduate programs of its size by the Public Accounting Report.

    Requirements
    • Candidates for the position should possess an earned degree in law.
    • Prior experience in teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
    • Excellent interpersonal communication skills including verbal and written, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising, and counseling skills.
    • Demonstrated interest in entrepreneurship and one or more high-technology fields such as engineering, computer science, biotechnology, or other STEM disciplines.
    • Demonstrated interest in new technologies, and how they can create positive societal change.
