Utrecht University School of Economics (U.S.E.) offers a position which is part of the EU Horizon 2020 project 'HUB-IN'. This research project takes an internationally comparative approach. The entrepreneurial ecosystem framework will be applied to improve insight into the (productive) interaction between entrepreneurship and historic urban areas, in order to stimulate their regeneration. It will also focus on finding business and financing models that support sustainable entrepreneurship development in historic urban areas.

Research methods include systematic literature review of the relevant knowledge base, qualitative research methods such as case studies, semi-structured interviews and archival document analysis. This is a multidisciplinary research project, including economics, finance, innovation studies, business administration and economic geography. The research is positioned within Utrecht University's Strategic Research Theme Institutions for Open Societies, but also has clear connections with the theme Sustainability. The successful candidate will also assist in education related to the research topic (e.g. Sustainable Entrepreneurship, thesis supervision) offered in the U.S.E education program during the course of the appointment. The successful candidate will be part of the section Entrepreneurship at U.S.E.

    ·

    ·       Familiarity with qualitative research methods in the social sciences is desirable.
