Join us at the SMS Competitive Strategy Interest Group (CSIG) Business Meeting!

Dear CSIG and other SMS members,

Did you think that business meetings are only about uninteresting administrative affairs? Think again! We are changing things up at the SMS Competitive Strategy Interest Group (CSIG) business meeting during the annual (virtual) conference, with the aim of ramping up interest and informational level this year! The meeting will be held virtually on 10/6/20, 1300-1400 UTC (US Eastern Time 9-10am).

We have a new exciting event at the business meeting this year: we have invited two prominent senior scholars – Connie Helfat (Dartmouth), co-editor at SMJ, and Gautam Ahuja (Cornell), editor-in-chief at Organization Science – to lead a discussion on Competition in Strategy research. During this session, they will discuss, and have open discussions, on issues such as:

    • What is the role of competition in strategy research?
    • Is this role changing in contemporary strategy research? If so, how and why?
    • What are the future directions in strategy research incorporating the study of competition?

During the business meeting, we will also be announcing the winners of two new awards we introduced this year:

    • Best Proposal Award for Creativity in Research, CSIG 2020
    • Best Proposal Award for Rigor in Research, CSIG 2020

Finally, we'll give you an update about our IG's amazing panels and sessions that you could attend during the conference.

If you would like to attend the CSIG business meeting, please register for the meeting here: https://www.strategicmanagement.net/virtual/overview/igc-business-meetings
