    Position Overview:

    A new tenure-track Assistant or Associate-level faculty position is available in the area of Entrepreneurship in the Department of Management to begin in Fall 2020. Our department and the College of Business and Economics value both teaching and research. A strong candidate will have a stream of research in progress, and the aspiration to excel as a teacher.

    The Department of Management hosts the most majors in the College of Business and Economics, with over 1,000 students majoring in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Human Resource Management, International Business, or in Management in our innovative online Management degree completion program. We provide courses in four MBA programs, including our nationally recognized online MBA program.  

    Duties and Responsibilities:  

    • Teach both graduate and undergraduate courses in entrepreneurship in face-to-face and/or online formats.  Initial teaching load is 2-2. Standard teaching load is 3-3 with possible reductions to 2-3 or 2-2 for research productivity.
    • Be an active researcher.  Publish in quality journals and be involved in the academic community.
    • Serve on department, college, or university committees.

    Minimum Qualifications:  

    • A Ph.D. or DBA degree at the time of appointment in entrepreneurship or related field from a nationally or internationally AACSB accredited university. 
    • Teaching experience in entrepreneurship at the graduate and/or undergraduate level.
    • Evidence of teaching effectiveness.
    • Evidence of a commitment to research/scholarly activity and potential.
    • Experience with or willingness to teach online.

    Preferred Qualifications:  

    • Refereed journal publications in entrepreneurship or related field.
    • Experience with startups, early stage growth, founding teams, and/or entrepreneurial organizations.
    • Professional business experience. 
    • Ability to utilize technology in the classroom.
    • Experience with Blackboard, Canvas or other LMS.
    • Secondary interest and ability to teach in Organizational Behavior and across disciplines.
    • Demonstrated service to the campus, local community, state, and other areas on a professional level.

    The successful candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities: 

    • The ability to create new knowledge and disseminate it to the academic community and to our students.
    • Knowledge of current best practices in management and in research methods.
    • A dedication to service and collegial interaction with other faculty, staff and students.
    • Interest, experience, and/or ability to promote cultural competency and/or diversity.
