    Associate or Full Professor of Management

    Ivy College of Business, Iowa State University

    The Department of Management and Entrepreneurship in the Ivy College of Business at Iowa State University invites applications for a tenure eligible Associate or Full Professor position in Strategy (including candidates with a macro-focus in Entrepreneurship, International Business, or Ethics) to begin August 2022. The selected candidate will be expected to publish high-impact research in top-tier Management journals, teach courses in the undergraduate, MBA, or PhD programs, and advise PhD students. The department offers a PhD in Management as well as Entrepreneurship.

    Department/Program & College Description:

    The Department of Management and Entrepreneurship is a supportive and productive group of 27 faculty members (16 tenure-track and 11 term), in the areas of Strategy, OB/HR, Entrepreneurship and Healthcare Management. They have published research in a wide variety of top journals, including the Academy of Management JournalAcademy of Management ReviewStrategic Management JournalOrganization ScienceJournal of ManagementJournal of Applied PsychologyJournal of Business VenturingEntrepreneurship Theory and Practice, and Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal.     The Ivy College of Business at Iowa State University was established in 1984. It conducts and shares research to educate tomorrow's business leaders, so they are prepared to deal with multi-disciplinary, global, technological, ethical and diversity challenges.     Tied to the Ivy Business College is the Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship, which serves the ISU campus with educational workshops, experiential learning, student incubation, and business support, as well as the Small Business Development Center, which offers startup assistance to students, faculty, and the community. The larger entrepreneurial ecosystem at Iowa State University, under the Vice President for Economic Development & Industry Relations, includes a 400+ acre Research Park that houses more than 80 startups, a year-long startup accelerator, and a top-tier technology transfer research foundation.

    Required Minimum Qualifications: 

    • PhD in Management, Strategy, Entrepreneurship, or related field.
    • Demonstrated ability to produce strong scholarly research.
    • Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduates.
    • Must meet the college's standards to be Scholarly Academic Qualified under AACSB Accreditation standards.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • A record of high impact research.
    • Evidence of an active research pipeline.
    • A record of high-quality teaching in MBA courses and PhD seminars.
    • Evidence of leadership and service in one's own institution and in the profession/field.
    • Experience working with and advising PhD students.
    • Interest in mentoring junior faculty.
