    Swinburne University of Technology’s Faculty of Business and Law invites applications for the role of Director, Australian Graduate School of Entrepreneurship. We seek a senior academic and experienced leader to head this vibrant, industry and research-engaged school. Our teaching and research spans the discipline areas of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Reporting directly to the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Faculty of Business and Law, the Director will be actively engaged with entrepreneurship education through postgraduate courses and the promotion of the entrepreneurship ecosystem across the University.

    With a suite of opportunities for collaborative research across traditional and practice-led areas, the school features specific research strengths. The school holds a distinguished record of pedagogical excellence with the established Master of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and is progressing towards its advancement with the development of B2B accredited micro-units and executive education. The appointee will encourage the continued commitment to student employability by fostering our multiple connections with industry, professional organisations and active partnerships with national and international research institutes.

    The Director will be charged with managing a significant program of public and institutional engagement. Competitive applicants will possess extensive academic leadership experience and demonstrated capacity to manage and further develop the breadth and depth of the graduate school’s cross-disciplinary programs in entrepreneurship and innovation in the Faculty and the broader University. The successful candidate will also initiate and lead high-profile external partnerships and projects with industry, enterprise and government, in addition to extending existing internal and external engagement projects across the school’s teaching and research portfolios.

    About you
    To be successful in the role, you will have:

    • Relevant postdoctoral qualification in Entrepreneurship and Innovation or a relevant field and an exemplary national and international reputation as a leader
    • Internationally recognised track record of research in a relevant field as evidenced by an extensive range of publications in top-tier journals and by measurable high impact outcomes
    • Proven record of initiating, obtaining and managing competitive research grants and involvement in research collaborations
    • Demonstrated, strengthened linkages with industry, research communities, business and/or government, coupled with proven industry or consulting experience
