    Position Description

    The Ohio University Department of Management in the College of Business invites applications for one or more Visiting Assistant Professors of Strategy beginning in August 2019 (one-year renewable appointment), with an opportunity to begin in May 2019. This position is in-person, on campus in beautiful Athens, Ohio. The position is a student-centered, research-active, innovative teaching position. Candidates should have an interest in teaching a writing-intensive undergraduate capstone course in business strategy, and also courses in either entrepreneurship or strategic leadership.

The undergraduate business curriculum emphasizes applied learning and student engagement. We place a strong emphasis on high quality and innovative teaching. Ohio University's College of Business offers a BBA with a range of majors, all of which require completion of the Strategy capstone course. Our department has majors and certificate programs in Entrepreneurship, International Business, Management, and Strategic Leadership. We also have a range of graduate programs that require similar subjects. Visiting faculty members have a normal teaching load of 7 courses per year, with typical section sizes of 30 to 40.

    Candidates must possess a doctorate or equivalent degree in strategy or a related field, or be ABD from an AACSB or equivalently accredited institution. All applicants must have an active research agenda underway. Consideration will be given to candidates with a track record of successful teaching, and experience teaching relevant courses.
