    The Delft Centre for Entrepreneurship at the Delft University of Technology is inviting applications for a lecturer position in Entrepreneurial Finance.

    Job description

    We are looking for a Lecturer in Entrepreneurial Finance who is an engaging teacher and has a strong ambition to develop an active research agenda on the financing of entrepreneurial, social as well as, commercial firms. The candidate is a skilled and engaged teacher with a solid experience in practical oriented teaching and coaching, who is able to develop new educational programmes, to make significant research contributions and to serve our growing centre for entrepreneurship as an enthusiastic team player. We welcome candidates who's interest not only includes start-up financing instruments, valuation and deal flows, but also the practicalities of negotiating deals and explore tools and approaches used when selling an idea to potential investors. Candidates should have a PhD, or will finish their PhD soon,  in the field of  management or a related field with a track record of publications in top-tier international journals and visibility at major conferences.  

    Who we are

    The Delft Centre for Entrepreneurship (DCE) of the Faculty Technology Policy and Management of the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) operates in a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem. We provide entrepreneurship programs at bachelor, master and PhD level across the faculties of the TU Delft and serve annually approx. 700 students. Students from our programs who start companies find accommodation in the Europe's largest tech-incubator YES!Delft and elsewhere. The growing interest among students, faculty members and founders of entrepreneurial start-ups calls for the development of new courses in technology-based entrepreneurship and provides a rich source of data to conduct empirical research. The Delft Centre for Entrepreneurship currently employs 7 FTE who are active in research, education and EU projects. The research program of DCE focuses on  technology-based entrepreneurship. A common, although not exclusive, interest within the centre is the role of technology-based entrepreneurship in society. Technologies in Digital Society, Health Systems, Circular and Clean Energy and in  Emerging Countries open new opportunities for entrepreneurs to pursue and has become important themes in both research and education throughout the faculties of TU Delft for which the centre develops and embraces new research approaches, methods and teaching techniques. The centre works closely with scientists, teachers, entrepreneurs and policymakers across the university, e.g. the tech-incubator YES!Delft, YES!Delft students, Delft Global, Delft Enterprises and the Valorisation Centre and with regional partners such as Medical Delta, World Horti Centre and many others.

    What we offer

Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities Salary, include a pension scheme up to €4,978 gross per month, dependent on experience and track record of the candidate. The TU Delft sets specific standards for the English competency of the teaching staff and offers training to improve English competency. The University is located close to the city centre of Delft. Delft is a mid-sized city in the west of the Netherlands between The Hague and Rotterdam. The city is known for its historic town centre with canals and bikes and the world famous blue and white ceramics. It is a vivid student town with roots tracing back to famous painters such as Johannes Vermeer but is currently home to some 22,000 engineering students.
