  • 1.  PDW Invite! Mindset and Skills for the 2020s: The Multifaceted Role of Entrepreneurship Education

How can we develop students' entrepreneurial skills and mindset through entrepreneurship education? What role does the ecosystem for students' entrepreneurship play for their learning? Can entrepreneurship education contribute to other disciplines? How can we further develop research on entrepreneurship education to support developments in educational practices?

Please join us for the online live-open session at the Academy of Management Virtual Meeting  on

Mindset and Skills for the 2020s: The Multifaceted Role of Entrepreneurship Education

Live on Saturday 8 August at 9am New York time/3pm Central European time at https://aom2020.aom.org/meetings/virtual/HEsTNWhvAY6E6y4Aw

This professional development workshop (PDW) aims at advancing research on entrepreneurship education (EE) and its role in developing entrepreneurial skills and mindsets for a broad range of contexts. The PDW thereby addresses an important re-orientation of the outcomes aimed for by EE study programs around the world, and the diffusion of EE into a variety of educational disciplines. Further, we address the increasing tendency to see the ecosystem for students' entrepreneurial activities as part of the learning environment. These changes are so far sparsely covered by relevant research (Wright et al., 2019). The PDW will engage participants in discussing initiatives to advance EE research by presenting different perspectives to the topic and by facilitating discussions around these perspectives and beyond. We expect to attract scholars doing research on EE, and AOM members involved in EE at the practical level. Moreover, we invite scholars interested in management education more broadly to join the discussion of how these changes will influence other education programs.
