    Dear all,

Please join our four-paper symposium on Austrian Economics and Entrepreneurship (Session #1228) sponsored by the Entrepreneurship Division! We have a group of renowned presenters/authors, including:

    • Per Bylund, Oklahoma State University
    • Vishal Gupta, University of Alabama
    • Peter Klein, Baylor University
    • Roger Koppl, Syracuse University
    • David Lucas, Syracuse University
    • Maria Minniti, Syracuse University

The aim of this symposium is to shed light on the important influence and potential Austrian economics has for entrepreneurship research (e.g., Klein & Bylund, 2014) and beyond, thereby rehabilitating the credibility of-and fueling the interest in-the Austrian school of economics. The featured presenters/authors represent a group of renowned scholars whose research interests include Austrian economics and entrepreneurship and who will address contemporary topics in Austrian economics and entrepreneurship research. The Symposium will start with an introduction, and then will move forward with paper presentations, followed by a group discussion and Q&A session. Some directions for future research will be also presented.

The order of papers is as follows:

    1. Per Bylund and Peter Klein: 'Praxeology and Design: Building Rationalist Foundations for Design Science'.
    2. Roger Koppl and Maria Minniti: 'Entrepreneurs Discover What Evolution Creates'.
    3. Per Bylund and Vishal Gupta: 'Effectuation and The Logic of Action: A Critical Assessment from a Praxeological Perspective'.
    4. David Lucas: 'Entrepreneurial Action, Public Policy, and Grand Challenges: A Political Economy Perspective'.
