TENURE TRACK FACULTY POSITION IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP

    UNIVERSITY OF DELAWARE

    NEWARK, DELAWARE

The Department of Business Administration and Horn Entrepreneurship at the University of Delaware invite applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Entrepreneurship. Candidates who hold a PhD in entrepreneurship, business or a relevant social science or STEM discipline are invited to apply. Preference will be given to candidates with: direct experience and long-term research and teaching interests pertaining to a sub-discipline in entrepreneurship (including, but not limited to: social innovation and entrepreneurship, technology commercialization, design and making, intrapreneurship, new product development, entrepreneurial leadership, eco entrepreneurship, women and youth). The anticipated workload split for the position will emphasize scholarship (i.e., a 1/2 or 2/2 annual course load) while also requiring high quality teaching and meaningful service contributions. The ideal candidate(s) will join a dynamic, entrepreneurial team that has gained national and international recognition for excellence in its youth, social entrepreneurship, undergraduate education and technology commercialization programming.

We are seeking a candidate who understands, and has the potential to emerge as a thought leader for best practices for entrepreneurship education, including an emphasis on evidence-based insights/practices, experiential learning and external engagement. We are also seeking an individual who is comfortable working at the fuzzy front end of the innovation process, partnering across academic colleges and disciplines and spanning the boundaries between the University and the broader community.

The University of Delaware combines a rich legacy of innovation with a commitment to undergraduate and graduate education and the creation of new knowledge. The main campus in Newark, Delaware, provides the amenities of a vibrant college town with convenient access to major east coast cities. The Department of Business Administration is part of the Alfred Lerner College of Business & Economics. The department offers degree programs in Marketing, Management, International Business and Operations Management. The department's faculty were instrumental in incubating Horn Entrepreneurship, which has emerged as the University's creative engine for entrepreneurship education and advancement. Horn Entrepreneurship actively partners with all of the University's Colleges and offers a broad array of academic, enrichment, venture support, technology commercialization and specialty (e.g., youth, women's and equity-focused) programming.  See www.udel.edu/horn for more details.

Qualified candidates should be interested in establishing a long-term career at the University of Delaware. A start date of August 16, 2022 will be offered. Applications will be reviewed beginning January 10 and accepted until the position is filled.
