Deadline for abstract and workshop proposal submissions: February 28th 2020
CCSBE is excited to announce a special track at this year's CCSBE conference devoted to women's entrepreneurship.
This track is designed to include practical workshops and panel discussions sharing best practices, experiential learning, programming related to a host of topics around women's entrepreneurship – as well as research related to women's entrepreneurship.
This track will examine women's entrepreneurship from several dimensions and will include:
- presentation of abstracts, early stage research (or full papers) and on-going research related to women's entrepreneurship
- practical workshops related to women's entrepreneurship education, experiential learning, accelerators, incubators, programming, pedagogy, and sharing best practices;
- panel discussions on issues related to women's entrepreneurship
We invite proposals for learning and sharing workshops, panel discussions, academic abstracts or papers related to women's entrepreneurship, including (but not limited to) the following topics:
- Women's entrepreneurship education and pedagogy
- Arts and culture sector and women's entrepreneurship
- Newcomers, immigrants, and women's entrepreneurship
- Aboriginal peoples, visible minorities, persons with disability, youth and seniors
- Diversity and under-represented communities and women's entrepreneurship
- Social innovation and women's entrepreneurship
- Women's entrepreneurship in low income or emerging markets
- Technological innovation to bridge rural-urban divides
- The role of women entrepreneurship in economic development
- Incubators and accelerators with programming for women entrepreneurs
- The role of government in promoting women's entrepreneurship and SMEs
- University-based new ventures and student engagement
- Sustainable entrepreneurship and innovation
- While we are particularly interested in submissions that relate to the above topics, abstracts, papers or workshop proposals on any aspect of women's entrepreneurship are welcome.
A few key points worthy of highlighting as we circulate the Call for Engagement:
- The deadline for submitting draft workshop/panel proposals or abstracts is February 28th;
- Participants can submit (and present) in either English or French
- Scholars do not need to submit full completed papers - they can present their early stage research, preliminary results, white papers, or incomplete paper drafts;
- If scholars do wish to submit a full paper, the deadline for submission of full papers is March 27th. Paper submissions will automatically . be considered for a best paper awards;
- Conference publication outlet - selected papers may be considered for publication in JSBE - provided they meet JSBE's publication criteria;
- Scholars requesting a letter of invitation for their travel visa can contact ccsbeinfo@gmail.com
Critical Dates
- Abstracts or workshop proposals due: Feb. 28, 2020
- Final abstracts or full papers due: March 27, 2020
- Early bird conference registration ends: April 3, 2020
Early stage research or unpublished working papers welcomed.
Abstracts and Proposals due February 28th, 2020:
Deadline for submission of abstracts, professional workshop session proposals, and panel discussion proposals, in English or French. Each submission should be in two pages, Times New Roman 12pt in Microsoft Word format: the first page will include a title, names, status and contact details of author(s); the second page will present contents in 250 words or less and 5 keywords, according to the following categories:

March 27, 2020 - Full paper submission Deadline
Deadline for submission of full paper or final version of abstract in English or French. The text should be submitted in Microsoft Word format and should not be more than 20 pages including the cover page, diagrams, tables and references. The format will be single-spaced, Times New Roman 12pts (attribute normal for text, bold for titles and subtitles), margin top, bottom, right and left 2.5 cm (1 inch), headings numbered as 1., 1.1.,1.1.1, etc. All references should be at the end of the document. In the text, the authors' names should be referenced in brackets followed by the year of publication, for example: (Tremblay, 2009).
