The Department of Economics, Management and Statistics (DEMS) of the University of Milano-Bicocca invites applications for a full-time, three-year position of Assistant Professor in Management starting in the next academic year 2019/20.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to conduct high quality research and teach in a multi-disciplinary environment. The new assistant professor will be part of the Department of Economics, Management and Statistics (DEMS), and is expected to contribute to undergraduate, master and PhD programs.
The ideal candidate will be ready to carry out research in relevant fields, such as strategic management, entrepreneurship, technology and innovation management, marketing or international business. The candidate must possess a sound background and expertise in the analysis of data concerning firms' competitive environment, strategy and organizational performance.
We are looking for candidates with a strong research record who can publish in top-tier journals, be effective teachers, and be willing to make other contributions to the department.
The teaching load for the Assistant Professor in Management is 1 semester course annually in strategic management or marketing.
About the Department
DEMS employs a group of 60 full-time faculty members, as well as 39 postdocs and PhD students. The department is committed to investing heavily in the ongoing development of its faculty and its Management Division. The research and teaching area of the Department includes theoretical and applied economics, marketing and business strategy.
The Management group of DEMS has published in top-tier general and field journals such as Management Science, Strategic Management Journal, Research Policy, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, Journal of Economic Behavior&Organization, Industrial and Corporate Change, International Journal of Industrial Organization, International Journal of Central Banking, European Management Review, Management Research Review, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Technology Transfer and Small Business Economics. Salary and contract
The salary is within a range established by Italian academic system regulations. A four-year tax exemption on 90 percent of the salary is available according to the Italian tax law for those candidates who have been residing outside Italy for 2 years or more and a salary top-up is offered upon evaluation of assistant professors' research results.
