    Position Details:
    The Department of Management, Information Systems, and Entrepreneurship in the Carson College of Business at Washington State University is seeking qualified candidates for one permanent, full-time tenure-track faculty position in Entrepreneurship, based at our Pullman campus. Appointment is Assistant Professor rank, but Associate or Full Professor may be considered depending on qualifications. This position is tenure-track and based in Pullman, Washington.

    The successful candidate will be required to teach four courses per year (typically two per semester), conduct high quality academic research, and make rank-appropriate service contributions to the Department, College, University, and community. There is a possibility of teaching in International Business based on candidate interest and college needs. Teaching in online programs may also be expected as part of the normal teaching load. The candidate will be expected to participate actively in the Management doctoral program. We are in the process of evaluating our upper-division curriculum to ensure it is providing the best education for our students, including an emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion.  There is an opportunity for a new hire to engage in this process.

    Department of Management, Information Systems, and Entrepreneurship (MISE):
    The MISE Department provides an exceptional work environment with highly supportive colleagues actively engaged in quality research, teaching, and service. Entrepreneurship is a core strength of the department and is a top priority at the Carson College of Business and Washington State University where publishing in top entrepreneurship journals is rewarded. Recently, the department placed in the top-20 in the 2019 Global Entrepreneurship Research Productivity Rankings based on publications in JBV, ETP, and SEJ over the past 5-year period. The MISE Department includes 34 faculty (across 4 campuses) with substantial plans to grow the department and its core strength in entrepreneurship.

    Carson College of Business:
    The Carson College of Business (CCB) enrolls more than 2,500 undergraduate students and 1,200 online MBA and Executive MBA students combined. The Online MBA program is currently ranked 12th by Poets and Quants and 18th by U.S. News and World Report. The college has 92 full-time faculty across its campuses and 75 staff. WSU has a set goal to advance the college's commitment to diversity and multiculturalism with respect to research, teaching, and community outreach, incorporating relevant programs, goals, and activities. A strong global perspective is encouraged. To promote global awareness and capability for our students, the college also offers faculty-led study abroad programs in Belize, China, Egypt, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Romania & Croatia, Spain Switzerland, and Thailand. In addition, CCB has invested in a state-of-the-art Center for Behavioral Business Research (CBBR), which opened in early 2010.

    Washington State University:
    Founded in 1890 in Pullman, WSU is the state of Washington's land-grant institution and one of the country's top public research universities.  WSU has an enrollment of over 31,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students and approximately 6,500 faculty and staff at its five campuses (Pullman, Spokane, Tri-Cities, Vancouver, and Everett), and online through its Global Campus. Unlike most multi-campus systems, WSU operates as an integrated university; thus, regardless of campus location, all MISE faculty are full members of the MISE department. The business curricula at all five campuses are accredited as one curriculum by the AACSB (AACSB accreditation was renewed for five years in 2019).

    WSU is a premier research institution, ranked as a "very high research activity" (R1) by the Carnegie Foundation, with ambitions to grow.  The university is currently pursuing its goal of becoming one of the nation's top 25 public research universities by 2030 through its "Drive to 25" or "D25" initiative. D25 is the University's highest strategic priority.

    Pullman, WA:
    Pullman is located in the rolling hills of the Palouse region and is ranked as one of the best cities to live in Washington State.     Required Qualifications:
    An earned doctorate in Entrepreneurship or closely aligned field from a nationally or internationally recognized university by the appointment start date and a research program focused on developing a humanistic understanding of entrepreneurs and the value creation processes that drive social and economic progress.

    Candidates for assistant professor rank must demonstrate potential to establish a successful record of scholarly research, as evidenced by copies of published articles, submitted manuscripts, and/or working papers targeted at publication in top-tier Entrepreneurship and Management journals. Evidence of potential for excellence in teaching and a commitment to teaching effectiveness at undergraduate and graduate levels in entrepreneurship and strategic management courses.

    Candidates for associate and full professor must additionally demonstrate a track record consistent with rank: a record of continued publication in top-tier Entrepreneurship and Management journals, excellence in teaching, and appropriate level of service to the fields of entrepreneurship and management.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Candidates with capabilities of teaching various undergraduate and graduate-level entrepreneurship and strategic management courses in face-to-face and online settings preferred.

    Interest in research and/or teaching that advances equity, diversity, and inclusion of historically underrepresented communities and aligns with WSU's strategic plan.

    For Associate and Full Professors, preference is given to candidates with additional successful record of working with doctoral students.
