The Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa is currently seeking to fill a faculty position in The Digital Transformation of Work. While we would welcome applicants from any core management discipline, we are particularly keen to receive interest from scholars studying digitial entrepreneurship or entrepreneurship in the gig and sharing economies. An abridged version of the posting is below and the full posting can be viewed at: https://telfer.uottawa.ca/en/?view=article&id=8366:faculty-position-in-digital-transformation-of-work&catid=38

The Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa is seeking applications for one faculty position in Digital Transformation of Work commencing on either July 1, 2020 or January 1st, 2021, at the rank of assistant or associate professor.

Located on the ancestral land of the Algonquin people, in the heart of Canada's national capital, the University of Ottawa, a top-ten research-intensive university in Canada, is committed to becoming a globally recognized institution in management. Triple-accredited by AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS, the Telfer School of Management is a leading international centre of management education and research, and the proud academic, research and professional home of some 4,200 students, 200 full- and part-time faculty members, and 25,000 alumni.  The Telfer School of Management offers a variety of programs including a Ph.D. and MSc in Management, MBA, Executive MBA, and Bachelor of Commerce. Research at the School is organised around four Areas of Strategic Interest: Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Thriving Organisations, Health, and Governance and Sustainability.

Currently, the School is extending its commitment to fostering a better understanding of how technological change is rapidly transforming virtually all areas of human life and interaction. These changes are acutely apparent in the way work is organized and performed. Prominent examples include the "sharing" and "gig" economies (e.g. Airbnb and Uber), but the implications more broadly concern the boundaries between organizations and markets, and the work and career structures of individuals. This position will help embed an understanding of the transformation of work into our curricula, across programs, and to draw together expertise in marketing, entrepreneurship, strategy and finance to inform managerial practice and public policy. The position may be in any core area of management.

Informal enquiries may be made to Prof. Mark Freel (freel@telfer.uottawa.ca) in the first instance.
