UCL School of Management – Assistant / Associate / Full Professor in Strategy & Entrepreneurship

The Strategy & Entrepreneurship Group at the UCL School of Management is seeking applications for a faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor level in strategy and entrepreneurship. We are particularly interested in research related to strategy, entrepreneurship, innovation, and technology. The anticipated starting date is 1 September 2021.

University College London (UCL) is one of the world's top universities. At its establishment in 1826, UCL was radical and responsive to the needs of society, and this ethos – that excellence should go hand-in-hand with enriching society – continues today. UCL's excellence extends across all academic disciplines; from one of Europe's largest and most productive hubs for biomedical science interacting with several leading London hospitals, to world-renowned centres for architecture (UCL Bartlett) and fine art (UCL Slade School). With an annual turnover exceeding £1.5 billion, it is a major research and education hub in London and globally.

UCL's staff and former students have included over 30 Nobel prize winners. It is a truly international community: more than one-third of our student body – more than 38,000 strong – come from 150 countries and nearly one-third of staff are from outside the UK. UCL offers more than 200 undergraduate programmes and more than 400 taught postgraduate programmes. Approximately 55% of the student community is engaged in graduate studies, with about 30% of these graduate students pursuing research degrees.

The UCL School of Management consists of five research groups: Strategy & Entrepreneurship, Organisations & Innovation, Operations & Technology, Marketing & Analytics, and Finance, Accounting & Economics. Faculty in the Strategy & Entrepreneurship group share an interest in understanding what makes firms successful and what leads to the formation of new businesses. Research topics include digitization, big data analytics, machine learning, information environment, platform ecosystems, new organizational forms, learning, innovation, competition, interorganizational relationships, corporate strategy, entrepreneurial strategy, entrepreneurship for development, and social innovation. As a research-focused group, tenure-track positions involve teaching only 2 courses per year (1 in year 1), with generous research support.

See mgmt.ucl.ac.uk for more information about the School and our research group.

Candidates should have a strong research record or demonstrated research potential in the area of strategy and entrepreneurship, with a focus on producing world-leading research. Candidates will be expected to teach in the School’s BSc or MSc programmes.

Please submit a CV, research statement, job market paper, and any additional working papers or published work here to be considered. If you are currently a PhD student or PostDoc, you should also arrange for three references to submit their letters online on your behalf.

The application deadline is November 20, 2020.
