The Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa invites students to apply for its PhD Program in Management. The application deadline is January 15th, 2022.

Entrepreneurship is one of six fields in the program. Doctoral students complete coursework in about two years and work on their research topics in a supportive and collegial environment with faculty supervisors. Faculty have published research across a variety of widely recognized journals in the field, including Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Family Business Review, Journal of Business Venturing, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, and other highly respected journals with a more specialized base. Faculty are engaged in global professional networks in the field, including through editor roles at journals and leadership roles at conferences, and in facilitating broad impact of research across academia and beyond.

Researchers in the Entrepreneurship field draw on theoretical perspectives from a wide range of literatures to work on several interesting and important research topics around the entrepreneurial process and cognition, opportunity recognition, emergence of new firms, intrapreneurship, social entrepreneurship, SME policy, and new venture financing. The field is open to varied methodological approaches, including qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods research designs.

The program offers generous financial support to admitted students for 4 years with opportunities for additional support for the 5th year. Support for conference travel is also available. In addition, the program offers support to apply for prestigious and lucrative provincial and national scholarships in Canada, which several students have received in the past.

The Telfer School of Management has accreditation from all three major international bodies, AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA. It is located in the vibrant and picturesque campus of University of Ottawa in a G7 capital city that consistency ranks among the top in the world for quality of life.

Please note that PhD courses are currently only offered in English and the program is offered only on a full-time basis.
