    The College of Business at Oregon State University is seeking exceptional candidates for our PhD Program in Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation. The application deadline for next fall's entering class is January 7, 2022.

    We anticipate enrolling a small cohort of students (3) in our Strategy, Entrepreneurship and Innovation option. Our four-year, full-time doctoral program is AACSB-accredited and prepares students to engage in high-quality research and pursue careers as faculty members at academic research institutions worldwide. Our program provides a balanced range of core courses and PhD seminars that will prepare students to conduct high-quality research in strategy, entrepreneurship, and innovation; our program also emphasizes involvement of PhD students in faculty-sponsored research projects as co-investigators and co-authors and provides an opportunity for PhD students to gain valuable teaching experience in our undergraduate programs.  

    The doctoral program at Oregon State emphasizes the early involvement of a small cohort of students in research projects with our research-active faculty in our Strategy and Entrepreneurship group, which includes Jonathan Arthurs, Jeffrey Barden, Jiyao Chen, Sam Yul Cho, Violetta Gerasymenko, and Manuela Hoehn-Weiss. Our young and collegial faculty group has a broad range of research interests spanning strategy, entrepreneurship, and innovation, and employs various theoretical and methodological approaches. Our faculty members are committed to high-impact and rigorous research. Their work has been published in the top academic journals, and our faculty members also hold editorial review board seats at top tier journals, including Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management ReviewStrategic Management Journal, Organization ScienceJournal of International Business Studies, Journal of Operations Management, Journal of Management, Research Policy, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Journal of Business Venturing, and Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice.  

    Accepted doctoral students are hired as Graduate Assistants for 20 hours a week and receive tuition support and competitive stipends for four years. Fifth year funding is contingent upon maintaining satisfactory academic progress. The College of Business provides additional funding for conference travel nationally.  

    Oregon State University is located in Corvallis, Oregon, in the heart of the Willamette Valley, approximately 70 miles south of Portland, an hour's drive from the Pacific Coast, and two hours from the Cascades and high desert. Founded in 1868, Oregon State is an international public research university. It is the state's Land Grant University and is one of only two universities in the U.S. to have Sea Grant, Space Grant and Sun Grant designations as well. Corvallis is ranked as one of the safest, smartest, friendliest, and greenest small cities in the nation, including #1 College Town in the Pac-12 athletic conference and Top Ten College Town in the nation.
