    Dear Entrepreneurship Colleagues:

Please see the above message related to the creation of an Organizational Neuroscience Interest Group within AoM.

    Dear Colleague:

I wanted to make you aware that a number of colleagues and I are spearheading an effort to establish an "Organizational Neuroscience" (ON) interest group in the Academy of Management (AOM). We have been given the go-ahead by the
Division and Interest Group Relations Committee of the AOM to produce a proposal, which is due on Oct. 1.<u5:p></u5:p>

    <u5:p> </u5:p>

As part of the process, we need to demonstrate that at least 500 active members of the AOM are supportive of the establishment of this interest group. Accordingly, if you are currently a member of the AOM, we would be delighted if you could show your support by signing our petition at: https://tinyurl.com/neuroaom. Further, please feel free to forward the petition link to any other AOM members who you think might be interested.<u5:p></u5:p>

The Steering Committee for our interest group and domain statement are:

    Steering Committee:

David Waldman (Chair), Arizona State University
Sebastiano Massaro (Co-Chair), University of Surrey (UK)
Mary Katherine Ward, Curtin University (Australia)
John Antonakis, Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Lausanne (Switzerland)
Pierre Balthazard, California State University - Sacramento
        Richard Boyatzis, Case Western University
Georgios Christopoulos, Nanyang Business School, NTU (Singapore)
        Anne Miner, University of Wisconsin

    Domain Statement:<u5:p></u5:p>

Specific Domain: The Organizational Neuroscience (ON) interest group is dedicated to using neuroscience knowledge and approaches to build and test organizational and managerial theory, as well as promote linkages to practice.

We encourage knowledge generation through theoretical propositions and/or empirical evidence pertaining to the neuroscience of cognition, emotions, and behavior of individuals in the workplace. Concurrently, the interest group seeks to understand how the environment, culture, and institutions can affect organizational actors' nervous system functioning. By considering neuroscience in relation to cognition, emotions, and behavior in organizations, we encourage interdisciplinarity, multi-methods and -levels research, cutting across the traditional areas of organizational behavior, strategic management, entrepreneurship, ethics and responsibility, and research methods, among others. The interest group promotes exchanges with scholars and practitioners using neuroscience in such additional fields as behavioral science, marketing, engineering, and economics. Moreover, we encourage ethical considerations when using neuroscience technology in research and the workplace.

If you have already signed the petition or have been previously contacted about it, I apologize for the duplication of communication. Please feel free to contact me prior to clicking on the above link if you have any questions or concerns.<u5:p></u5:p>
