    The University of Louisville invites applications for the position of Director of the Forcht Center for Entrepreneurship. The Forcht Center is housed within the College of Business and is extensively integrated with the Department of Entrepreneurship and its academic programs. The Director position is non-tenure track, although a candidate with the preferred qualifications may be considered for tenure at the commensurate academic rank. 

    The successful candidate will hold a key leadership role in the College of Business. He or she should demonstrate capacity for: 

    Strategic Management. Work cooperatively with the Chair of the Entrepreneurship Department, the leadership of the College of Business, and the University of Louisville to identify strategic opportunities, challenges, and innovations to advance the Center, the Department and the College of Business. Includes positioning the Forcht Center as a leading national academic entrepreneurship center, assisting the Chair of the Entrepreneurship Department in preparing the Department for projected growth in student enrollment, launching new offerings and/or making revisions to existing curricula to meet market needs, and building a strategic vision to create areas of research and teaching excellence. Other responsibilities include supervision of staff or administrative personnel as well as oversight of two Center-hosted business plan competitions. 

    Teaching. Teach entrepreneurship courses in the entrepreneurship MBA program and the undergraduate Entrepreneurship Minor and, if PhD-qualified, in the Entrepreneurship PhD program. Teaching duties will include working with undergraduate and MBA teams to develop ideas, create business plans, and compete in local, regional and national business plan competitions. 

    Development. Work cooperatively with College of Business and University development personnel on fund raising activities at the local, regional and national levels. Maintain current relationships with supporters of entrepreneurship programs, activities, and professorships. 

    Qualifications: 

    The successful candidate must hold a master's degree although a PhD is preferred. Practical experience in entrepreneurship is required, either through founding one or more businesses or working with entrepreneurs.
