Please join us at SMS for a timely and energizing Panel Discussion (Session#1758) on "Community and Social Issues: From Community-Level Institutional Pressure to Community Entrepreneurial Action"

    Tuesday, October 27 - 9:45 AM - 10:45 AM EDT

    Panelists:

Juan Almandoz - IESE Business School

    Sophie Bacq - Indiana University

Sinziana Dorobantu - New York University

    Henrich R. Greve - INSEAD

Trenton A. Williams - Indiana University

Our panel brings together experts from different theoretical perspectives in exploring the role of community in de novo and de alio organizational efforts to address social issues. By spanning a range of perspectives, this panel proposes a shift in management scholars' attention to the diverse ways (institutional pressure, public-private partnerships, collective action, entrepreneurship) in which communities facilitate, frame, and inhibit organizational efforts to address social issues.

Organizers: Sophie Bacq and Trent Williams (Indiana University)
