    The University of Wyoming invites applications for an associate or full professor to serve as the chair of the Management and

    Marketing Department in the College of Business, who will be recommended for tenure. Qualified applicants will also be

    considered for the Dick and Maggie Scarlett Endowed Chair in Business. This position represents a transformational opportunity

    to serve in a leadership role in the college for the qualified candidate. This position will lead and set the vision for the

    department as it rebuilds from recent retirements and retools its self with a new college-level strategic plan. More specifically,

    the department chair leads the Management and Marketing Department in setting and achieving goals that align with the

    college's strategic plan, represents the department on college executive councils and participate in strategic decision-making,

    and handles personnel matters within the department. The department includes faculty and programs encompassing marketing,

    sales, HR, and entrepreneurship, plus a reputation in ethics and sustainability. This appointment will be halftime administrative

    with teaching responsibilities being one course per semester. Demonstrated record of published research in leading peer reviewed

    journals in one's field is essential, as well as potential for future research. Experience in leadership roles and / or

    working with doctoral students and junior faculty is preferred. The expected start date for this position is either August 2019 or

    January 2020.

    building. The College currently offers undergraduate degrees in business administration, marketing, professional sales,

    management, accounting, entrepreneurship, economics and finance. The College offers masters of business administration

    Minimum Qualifications

     

    Ph.D. in marketing, management or a related field from a recognized institution. A demonstrated record of research publication

    in leading journals in one's field. Evidence of on-going research publication potential. Evidence of leadership potential.

    Evidence of effective teaching. A record of teaching, research and service consistent with a tenured appointment at the

    Associate Professor or Professor level.

     

    Desired Qualifications

     

    Evidence of successful administrative ability. Experience in mentoring junior faculty. Experience leading an academic

    department and/or leading an organization, preferably through times of change. Experience with doctoral education, including

    but not limited to recruiting, developing and placing business doctoral students.
