    FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

    The Department of Economics and Business in the Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership at the City College of New York seeks candidates for a tenure track faculty position in Management at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in Fall 2022. While preference is given to candidates specializing in entrepreneurship, other fields will be considered. Applicants must be able to demonstrate their commitment to teaching as well as excellent scholarly work. The City College of New York has provided a world-class higher education to an increasingly diverse student body serving as one of the single most important avenues to upward mobility in the nation. The search committee is particularly interested in candidates who can continue those traditions in both their teaching and research. They ideal candidate will share responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.

    About the Colin Powell School

    Inaugurated in 2013, the Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership (formerly the Division of Social Science) comprises the five departments of Anthropology, Economics and Business, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology, and dynamic interdisciplinary programs including International Relations, Mental Health Counseling, Public Service Management, Women's Studies, and the Skadden Arps Honors Program for Legal Studies. The School offers a wide variety of traditional and interdisciplinary undergraduate and graduate degrees. The internationally recognized scholarship of the Colin Powell School's diverse faculty addresses critical topics of societal concern from multiple intellectual perspectives.     QUALIFICATIONS
    A Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship, Strategic Management or a closely related field, and the demonstrated potential for publication in top journals required. The position also requires both the interest and skills for effective teaching and interaction with students of multi-ethnic backgrounds in an urban commuter setting. An ideal candidate would be interested in interdisciplinary entrepreneurship such as Fintech, biotech, renewable energy or technology entrepreneurship in general. Also required is the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and the ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
