Associate or Full Professor Positions in Technology Management at UC Santa Barbara

UC Santa Barbara's Technology Management department invites applications for tenured positions at either the Associate or Full Professor rank in the areas of organization science and entrepreneurship, with a start date of July 1, 2020 or later. The successful candidates will complement a growing, award- winning faculty engaged in cutting-edge research and teaching at the intersection of social and technological systems.

Applicants must have a PhD degree in a relevant area by the time of application. We welcome applications from scholars who have expertise in any of the following areas: work and organization studies, science and technology, knowledge and learning, innovation and entrepreneurship, and strategic management. Interdisciplinary and multi-methodological approaches to studying phenomena at any level of analysis (e.g., individuals, groups, or organizations) are welcome. A record of securing external funding for research is desirable.

Successful applicants will possess the leadership abilities required to help shape the intellectual agenda within the Technology Management department and contribute meaningfully to its strategic initiatives and programmatic activities. The selected candidates are expected to play a key role in the growth of the department and in the professional development of early-career faculty and Ph.D. students.

Technology Management resides in UC Santa Barbara's highly ranked College of Engineering, where it offers a successful professional Master's degree, a new Ph.D. program, and undergraduate and graduate certificates. Core faculty in Technology Management include Stephen Barley, Matthew Beane, Ted Frech, Gary Hansen, Paul Leonardi, Kyle Lewis, Renee Rottner, and Jessica Santana, whose research and teaching reflect the unit's intentional interdisciplinary character.

All applications will be held in strict confidence by the Search Committee. To apply, please submit CV, cover letter, statement of research, statement of teaching, as well as contact information for three references. We strongly encourage applicants to submit an optional Statement of Contributions to Diversity. These statements, if submitted, will be reviewed for evidence of teaching, research, professional and/or public service contributions that promote diversity and equal opportunity, such as effective strategies used for the educational advancement of students in various under-represented groups; demonstrated contributions to the advancement of equitable access and diversity in education; and contributions furthering diversity and equal opportunity in higher education through participation in such activities as recruitment, retention, and mentoring of scholars and students.

We encourage all applicants to apply to both of the open positions in the department listed below.

    Position One:

Applicants may apply via UC Recruit https://recruit.ap.ucsb.edu/apply/JPF01602. Review of applications will begin December 5, 2019 and will continue until the position is filled.
