Research position in Entrepreneurship and SMEs at the University of Seville

The PYMED research group is seeking an experienced scholar for a 3-year research position at the Associate/Full Professor level.

    Requirements

The successful candidate has at least 5-year post-doctoral experience in academic research and a strong record of publications on top academic journals. The candidate also has the ability to provide leadership in research and in the professional development of PhD candidates and junior faculty. He or she also has a well-developed research program of projects in various stages of development.

The PYMED research group (http://grupo.us.es/pymed/en) study areas include the entrepreneurial process, new venture creation and the role of SMEs in economic development. Candidates specialized in any of these areas are welcome. The most relevant project PYMED is presently carrying out is ELITE (https://www.researchgate.net/project/ELITE-Emergence-of-high-impact-entrepreneurs). The candidate will have an excellent opportunity to help develop this project.

    Job description

The candidate will have considerable autonomy in carrying out research, but involvement with colleagues and PhD students in the Research Group is expected. This is a research-based position and, therefore, none, or very reduced, teaching responsibilities will be attached. Thus, knowledge of Spanish is not required, although it will be valued and is recommended to facilitate integration within the team. The position is due to start at the end of 2019. Salary is competitive with equivalent EU offerings. Assistance to cover relocation costs is also available. The duration of this position is initially 3 years, but it may be renewed based on performance.

    Selection process

This position is an endowed chair funded by the "Talentia Senior" programme of Andalusia's regional government. Therefore, it involves a 2-stage process. In the first stage, the University of Seville pre-selects candidates based on their CVs. On a second stage, the University applies to the Talentia Senior programme to seek funding for the preselected candidate.

At present, we are seeking expressions of interest on the part of the candidates. To demonstrate your interest, please send your CV before November 21st to flinan@us.es and/or pymed@us.es. Pre-selected candidates will be contacted for a more detailed discussion of process, conditions, etc.
