As a veteran of the great ESHIP ecosystem events at Kauffman [ ] this sounds particularly cool. Especially if you are a young scholar interested in researching bottom-up, entrepreneur-led, network-focused ecosystem/entrepreneur research...  [it's not just ecosystem research, of course!]

Didn't see this on AoM Connect yet so...
[and ping me directly if I can help... Alas, those at USA institutions are only eligibles :( ]

    Entrepreneurship Research Bootcamp

    Call for Applicants

    May 19 – 23, 2019

    Kansas City, Missouri

The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation will host a bootcamp for entrepreneurship research on May 19 – 23, 2019 in Kansas City, Missouri.

The program will include two components. The first component is a three-day practical immersion to observe and participate in an annual convening of the Foundation, which brings together hundreds of entrepreneurs, entrepreneurship support organizations, policy advocates, and local policymakers. Bootcamp participants will have the opportunity to interact with stakeholders relevant to entrepreneurship, and to learn firsthand about complex and urgent needs.

The second component is a one-day intensive mentoring and professional development workshop guided by practitioners and researchers, focused on research for practical impact, evolving questions in the study of entrepreneurship, new opportunities for data and methods, and career trajectories in the field.

The program is designed to encourage and connect research with practical problems related to entrepreneurship. Ph.D students and untenured researchers (e.g. pre-tenure, postdocs, and non-university researchers) based at U.S. institutions are eligible to apply.

It is particularly well-suited for early stage Ph.D students who have not yet finalized a dissertation proposal. It is also an exciting opportunity for researchers within five years of their Ph.D who are interested in, but have not previously studied, entrepreneurship. For example, researchers with training in psychology, informatics, or city planning may be interested in extending their established expertise to the study of entrepreneurship.

Selected participants will receive a $3,000 stipend to travel to Kansas City and must be present for the entire program from the afternoon of May 19 to the evening of May 23.

Participants will be expected to attend dinner on the evening of May 19 and will be expected to arrange their own travel including flights, hotel and ground transportation in Kansas City.

Participants will be expected to attend and prepare a summary report about the Foundation's convening during the practical immersion.

    Eligibility

Applicants must be based (current enrollment or current employment) at a U.S. institution. Applicants must have no existing financial relationships with the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.

    Application Process and Deadlines

Please submit your application by February 25, 2019. The application requirements include a brief statement of interest (early stage Ph.D students) or a summary of established research and potential links to entrepreneurship (established researchers), and CV.

The Foundation will notify applicants of selection decisions by March 18, 2019. Participants are expected to confirm their attendance by April 5, 2019.
