Florida Atlantic University (FAU) seeks applicants to our doctoral program in entrepreneurship.The Entrepreneurship specialization of our Ph.D. in Business Administration capitalizes on strengths within the college. At FAU, the entrepreneurship research group comprises faculty members across business disciplines. Altogether, our faculty have more than 80,000 literature citations, and have published in leading journals including Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Management, and Strategic Management Journal, among others. Several faculty members have held leadership positions in academic organizations and at conferences, as well as editor and editorial review board roles at journals. Entrepreneurship doctoral students work closely with these faculty members throughout their coursework, and in their research. Ph.D. students typically take 12-15 courses, including doctoral seminars in a three-course management core, a four-course research methods core, and 5-8 entrepreneurship courses covering topics such as venture creation processes, corporate entrepreneurship, international entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial economics, and entrepreneurial finance. The program can be completed in four years, though some students may need additional time. Coursework is usually completed within two years, and then students typically spend two years or longer completing their comprehensive exams and dissertations.
