    Primary Duties and
    Responsibilities:
     

    The Jack C. Massey College of Business at Belmont University is seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship, beginning August 2022.

    We encourage applicants from a broad range of entrepreneurial interests, and the ideal candidate will have a well-defined research agenda and pedagogical approach.  Candidates should be able to demonstrate a well-developed research agenda with promise of publishing in high quality, peer-reviewed academic journals, as well targeted journals related to the practice of entrepreneurship.  Prior experience in industry or as an entrepreneur will be viewed favorably as will prior teaching experience.
    The faculty member may teach a variety of entrepreneurship courses at both the graduate and undergraduate level, and will have the opportunity to contribute to an evolving curriculum focused on the dynamic needs of our student body and the Nashville community.  In addition, s/he will collaborate with the Cone Center for Entrepreneurship, which oversees a rich portfolio of co-curricular activities and programs that complement the campus' entrepreneurship programming.

    Under our new University President, Greg Jones, new campus-level programs and resources are being developed to promote a broad culture of entrepreneurship across academic disciplines and programs.  This includes a new grant program, BASIC (Belmont Accelerator for Social Impact Collaboration - https://www.belmont.edu/basic/index.html), which promotes ambitious, interdisciplinary initiatives linking the campus with organizations in the Nashville and greater Tennessee communities.
    Ph.D. or progress toward a terminal degree is required; teaching experience strongly preferred.  As all Belmont undergraduates complete an innovative general education program with significant interdisciplinary components, Belmont University is particularly seeking applicants who can demonstrate the interest and ability to work collaboratively in course design and to teach interdisciplinary and topical courses in this program.  For additional information about the position and to complete the online application, candidates are directed to https://jobs.belmont.edu.       field of study.
    • Knowledge of subject matter and course content taught.
    • Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques.
    • Demonstrated capacity to engage in high quality scholarly
      activity.
    • Demonstrated ability to advise, instruct, manage, motivate and evaluate students.
    • Skilled in the use of computers, Internet resources, and MS Office software.
    • Ability to learn relevant sections of BannerWeb, Belmont University's online integrated database system for student grading.
    • Ability to integrate technology into the teaching and learning process.
    • Ability to successfully interact with students, other educators and educational institution representatives, and the general public in a professional manner.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
    • Knowledge of the programs and services offered by Belmont University. Interest and ability to work collaboratively in course design and to teach interdisciplinary and topical courses.
    • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
      
    Required EducationPh.D. or progress toward a terminal degree is required;
