    Fealy Family Endowed Chair in Entrepreneurship

     

    The Department of Management of the University of Cincinnati's Lindner College of Business seeks to fill a tenure-track, open-rank faculty position (rank commensurate with credentials), which begins in Fall 2021. For the first three years, the person hired for this position will also be appointed as the Fealy Family Endowed Chair in Entrepreneurship with associated benefits. Chair appointments are renewable at the discretion of the Dean. We are seeking a highly qualified faculty member with a strong publication record. The successful candidate will develop and lead academic research projects with the aim of publishing in the field's top-tier journals, teach entrepreneurship courses in our undergraduate and/or graduate programs, and provide academic leadership of our entrepreneurship area.

    Minimum Requirements: All of the following are required prior to the effective date of appointment: A doctorate degree in entrepreneurship, management, or a related field from an AACSB accredited university; a strong publication record (commensurate with rank) with publications in top-tier journals     in areas related to entrepreneurship or organizational behavior, and a record of having independently taught at least one course in entrepreneurship or a related area at the undergraduate or graduate level.   

    The Department has a strong commitment to quality research and teaching. Our degree programs are fully accredited by the AACSB. The Department has eight full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty members in entrepreneurship, organizational behavior, and strategy, as well as seven educator faculty. Faculty members are actively engaged in research and have published in the leading journals, among them: Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Organizational Research Methods, Research Policy, and Strategic Management Journal. The Department is home to two active centers that provide faculty with opportunities for research data collection and networking: The Center for Entrepreneurship and the Goering Center for Family and Private Business. UC's entrepreneurship program has been ranked one of the best in the United States by Entrepreneur Magazine, the Princeton Review, and Success Magazine. Lindner's entrepreneurship academic programs and the Center for Entrepreneurship are closely linked to the 1819 Innovation Hub, which is part of the larger Cincinnati Innovation District, home to numerous Fortune 50/500 corporate partners.

    Lindner College of Business enrolls approximately 4,000 undergraduates, 900 master's students (includes online), and 45 doctoral students. The College is part of a comprehensive research institution that is the second largest state university in Ohio, with a total enrollment of over 46,000 students. The University of Cincinnati (UC) is classified as a Doctoral University, Highest Research Activity, by the Carnegie Commission. Cincinnati combines small-town friendliness with all of the advantages of a big city. It offers both an affordable cost of living and a vibrant downtown district filled with events and attractions, including professional sports, a world-class zoo, and an aquarium right across the river. The University is strategically located in a diverse business environment that includes more Fortune 500 companies per capita than New York, Los Angeles, Boston, or Chicago. It also has a thriving arts community including a ballet, opera, art museums, symphony, and theater.
