  • 1.  Seeking nominations for the Parliamentarian of the ENT Division

    The Entrepreneurship Division of the Academy of Management is seeking nominations for Parliamentarian beginning in the current academic year (2019/2020).  Self-nominations are welcome.  See the description below as stated in the by-laws of the division.  Please note there is an expectation that the parliamentarian will attend the mid-year meeting each January, held at the location of the Chair of the Division.  This year the mid-year meeting is at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO, USA on January 23-35, 2020.  The constitution and by-laws for the ENT Division are located here:  https://ent.aom.org/about-us/consitutionandbylaws

    If you or someone you know is interested in becoming the Parliamentarian for the Division please email dawn.detienne@colostate.edu no later than September 7, 2019 the following information.  Please indicate "Parliamentarian" in the subject line.

    Parliamentarian. The Parliamentarian is appointed by the Chair to serve a 5 year renewable term. Duties include assisting the Chair in the conduct of Division business according to the Constitution and as prescribed in Article IX; maintaining and making available an up-to-date copy of the Division Constitution and the Division Policy Manual on request; assisting the Chair in the preparation of revisions to either document; and performing additional duties as may be agreed upon with the Chair or as provided in the Constitution.

    Please apply! In ENT we take process very seriously and I've been witness to how this seemingly bureaucratic role can pay off big time.. The Division has been blessed over the years by great parliamentarians - you don't need to have been formally trained as such like Dianne Welsh was or as joyously relentless like Sharon Simmons, you just want to pour oil in some mismatched gears (while the rest of us are pouring in sand? :) ). If not formally trained, there's a learning curve but hardly a hurdle.

    You want in on the inner circles of the ENT Division - this is your spot!
