    Associate/Full Professor, Public Management and Policy

    Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, Georgia State University

    The Department of Public Management and Policy seeks a senior scholar to join the department at the rank of Associate or Full Professor, beginning Fall 2019. Applicants with research interests in all areas of public management and policy are encouraged to apply.  Successful candidates will have a record of academic publications and sponsored research appropriate for tenure and appointment at their rank at Georgia State University, which holds the Carnegie classification Doctoral Universities: Highest Research Activity. The ability to teach research methods and quantitative analysis at the doctoral and master's levels is also desirable.  

    The Department of Public Management and Policy focuses on four areas of excellence: nonprofit management and policy; program evaluation and policy analysis; management and finance of public and nonprofit organizations; and economic development and urban policy. The Andrew Young School ranks 18th overall among graduate programs in public affairs in the US News rankings, as well as 3rd in urban policy, 5th in nonprofit management, 8th in public budgeting and finance, 8th in local government management, 22nd in public management and leadership, and 29th in public policy analysis. The department offers a NASPAA-accredited MPA, as well as undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degrees in public policy. Located in downtown Atlanta, Georgia State University is one of the country's top urban public research universities and has one of the most diverse student bodies. US News calls GSU the 2nd most innovative university in the U.S. and ranks it 2nd in undergraduate teaching.  

    Candidates should email a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, and the names of three references to pmapfacultysearch@gsu.edu.  The position requires a doctorate in an appropriate field of study from an accredited university. Candidate must be eligible to work in the USA.  At the time of offer, a background check will be required.
