    Hello everyone,

As I posted recently, the Stephenson Department of Entrepreneurship and Information Systems (SDEIS) in the E.J. Ourso College of Business at Louisiana State University has one available and one pending entrepreneurship faculty position.  I have included some updated information about the latter below.  (I've also included some additional links about the Department's programs and on-campus resources).

    • Professor or Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship (may qualify for endowed chair) – Application link

    • Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship - We will send applicants the official LSU Office of Human Resource Management link as soon as final approval is received.  In anticipation of this approval, applicants interested in interviewing for the position during the Academy of Management meeting in Chicago next month are encouraged to send a cover letter and curriculum vita to FranzLohrke@lsu.edu.

Responsibilities for both positions include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in entrepreneurship as well as publishing high quality research on entrepreneurship topics in top-tier journals.  In addition, the Professor/Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship is to play a leading role in developing and delivering research, education, and outreach agendas in entrepreneurship.

The SDEIS offers myriad entrepreneurship programs including a bachelor of entrepreneurship degree, entrepreneurship minor, and Fellows Program.

    • The bachelor of entrepreneurship is a 120-hour program and must be paired with another bachelor's degree from any college on campus (e.g., engineering, mass communications, business, or music) as part of a paired-degree earning a minimum of 150 hours.  More information about this innovative degree is available here.

    • The minor is open to any LSU student and builds upon the core business curriculum by providing students with focused coursework needed for starting, owning, and/or growing a new or established business.

    • The multi-disciplinary Entrepreneurship Fellows Programis a three-course, year-long experience designed to amplify an entrepreneurial mindset in a select group of graduate and undergraduate students from different majors across the university by providing students with the opportunity to network with and be mentored by faculty and executives.

As part of these programs, the SDEIS offers courses including innovation, business planning, technology commercialization, as well as a cutting-edge topics course in digital entrepreneurship.  In addition, being housed in an information systems (IS) department opens up collaboration opportunities with faculty and PhD students conducting research in IS topics like artificial intelligence, analytics, crowdsourcing, and more.

Additional campus resources include an Ideation Lab, a Student Incubator at LSU Innovation Park, a $25,000 Venture Challenge business plan competition, and opportunities for involvement in the entrepreneurial ecosystem through events such as Startup Weekend and Baton Rouge Entrepreneurship Week (BREW).

Additional details about the department and its programs are available here.  LSU is committed to diversity and is an equal opportunity / equal access employer.

Please let me know if you have any questions about either position.

    Best regards,
