    Hynds Entrepreneurial Fellow

    Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship

    University of Auckland, New Zealand

    • Are you excited and knowledgeable about innovation and entrepreneurship?
    • Do you have the talent to develop creative curricula initiatives?

An opportunity has emerged for someone who is passionate about working with academic colleagues to identify, design and execute curriculum interventions related to innovation and entrepreneurship concepts.

    To apply, go to https://opportunities.auckland.ac.nz/jobid/19994/1/1

    The role

The Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship's (CIE) mission is to unleash the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship at the University of Auckland. We do this by providing the knowledge, environment and inspiration to all staff and students through experiential programmes, events and workshops.

We need an outstanding Professional Teaching Fellow, the Hynds Entrepreneurial Fellow, who will help embed innovation and entrepreneurship into the curricula in all faculties, at the University of Auckland.

Based in the Unleash Space, the University of Auckland's Innovation Hub and Makerspace, this role will work with academic staff to identify, design and execute curriculum interventions related to innovation and entrepreneurship concepts. Such interventions will be sensitive to the student's disciplinary context, and be delivered in a way that is familiar and resonates with them and, where appropriate, utilizes the resources and tools of the Unleash Space.

You will also establish, oversee and manage a Community of Practise of academic staff who incorporate innovation and entrepreneurship concepts and experiences into their teaching, and provide them with continuing professional development opportunities.

    Who are we looking for?

    • You will be postgraduate degree-qualified, with a strong understanding of education/instructional design, entrepreneurship pedagogy and context, and technology.
    • Ideally you'll have a minimum of 3 years' experience, preferably in tertiary teaching, in particular related to innovation and entrepreneurship or working in an entrepreneurship support or learning design context.
    • You will also need to have excellent communication, relationship management, organisational, analytical and problem solving skills.

    Unleash Space

The Unleash Space, run by the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is the University of Auckland's iconic multi-functional space for creative, cross sector and cross-disciplinary innovation. This space is an inspirational flagship for making, innovation and entrepreneurship.

Officially opened by the Prime Minister in February 2018, the Unleash Space is multi-purpose with flexible areas for events, workshops and meetings; it has a range of making and prototyping equipment such as 3-D printers, vinyl cutters, CAD stations, CNC routers; and working spaces equipped with whiteboards.

Designed specifically to engage students and staff from all faculties, and to encourage them to create, make, take risks, form teams, ideate, and to successfully "commercialise" their ideas – be they for economic or social impact.

The Unleash Space's integrated programmes combine mentoring, workshops and events for students to ideate, prototype, and eventually launch their ventures.
