    Job Description

    The Hynes Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation at Iona College seeks applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in August, 2018. We seek candidates with a primary focus on entrepreneurship & innovation, with a specialization in social entrepreneurship and/or social innovation.

    The primary responsibilities of the faculty member are teaching, research, and service to the college, profession, and community. In addition, the faculty member will be working closely with the team at the Hynes Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation on developing and supporting curricular and co-curricular learning opportunities for Iona students. 

    The successful candidate will be committed to the academic success of all of our students and to an environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates diversity and differences.

    Required Skills 

    • Evidence of successful teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level. 
    • Research, teaching, and work experience in social entrepreneurship and/or social innovation.
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Ph.D. in entrepreneurship, or other closely-related field (preferably from an AACSB-accredited institution). Applicants nearing completion of the Ph.D. may be considered.
    • Evidence of current scholarly research in social entrepreneurship or social innovation, entrepreneurship education, or related areas.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students in a multicultural/multiethnic suburban campus environment with a substantial population of first-generation students.

    All Iona College faculty are expected to engage in teaching, research, and service. Applicants should submit a formal letter of interest indicating teaching and research interests, a CV, and at least three academic references.
