I’m pleased to announce the winners of the 2022 ENT Division Elections.
PDW Chair (first step on the five-year leadership ladder, starting Fall 2022):
Vishal Gupta (University of Alabama)
Vishal Gupta, professor at The University of Alabama, has been a member of the entrepreneurship division since his doctoral student days. Over the years, Vishal has developed a profound appreciation for the role that the division plays in the lives of academics. Home to a diverse and inclusive community of scholars, the entrepreneurship division welcomes academics from around the world. In 2021, Vishal founded the Virtual Summer Seminar in Entrepreneurship Research, which attracted 200+ PhD students and junior faculty from 22 countries. Vishal is committed to identifying novel opportunities for the division's membership in order to offer a friendly space to learn, exchange ideas and engage in meaningful conversations and collaborations.

Per Bylund (Oklahoma State University)
Per Bylund is Associate Professor and Records-Johnston Professor in the School of Entrepreneurship at Oklahoma State University. Bylund is associate editor of Journal of Entrepreneurship and Public Policy and associate fellow of the Ratio Institute in Sweden. He has held faculty positions in Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University and Trulaske College of Business at the University of Missouri. His research studies the market process of prosperity-creation and economic development focusing on entrepreneurship and institutions. He has published widely in top journals in entrepreneurship and management. An author of two books, Problem of Production: A New Theory of the Firm (Routledge, 2016) and The Seen, the Unseen, and the Unrealized: How Regulations Affect Our Everyday Lives (Lexington, 2016), he is currently working on a book on entrepreneurship for Cambridge University Press (expected 2023). Bylund writes a regular column for entrepreneur.com.
Julio De Castro (IE Business School)
Julio O. De Castro is Chair Professor and head of the PhD program at IE Business School in Madrid, Spain. Prior to that, he was the Lewis family distinguished professor of Global Management and professor of Entrepreneurship at Babson College, Associate Dean of Research and Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship Management at Instituto de Empresa and associate professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Professor de Castro teaches in the area of entrepreneurship. His research examines entrepreneurial and cross-cultural aspects of firm management and strategy. In particular, it examines the characteristics of the process of entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial failure and exits, the nature of entrepreneurship among women and Hispanics, entrepreneurship at the BOP, Informality, Product piracy, and the nature of the entrepreneurial process in micro-enterprises.
Maija Renko (DePaul University)
Maija Renko is Professor and Coleman Chair of Entrepreneurship at DePaul University, Driehaus College of Business, in Chicago, USA. She received her D. Sc. degree from Turku School of Economics (Finland), and a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Florida International University (USA). Between 2007 and 2019 she worked at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she was promoted to full professor in 2019. Maija’s research and teaching interests are focused on the early stages of the entrepreneurial process, social entrepreneurship, and technology entrepreneurship. Her research has been published in leading journals, and she currently serves on the editorial board of Journal of Business Venturing and Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice. Through her work Maija aims to contribute to a better understanding of how entrepreneurs build successful businesses that not only generate financial rewards for those involved, but also contribute to positive social change.
Yuliya Snihur (Toulouse Business School).
Yuliya Snihur is an Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Toulouse Business School, France. Yuliya teaches and studies strategy-formation and evolution processes in new ventures and their ecosystems based on the analysis of business models. She is interested in the role of time and language in entrepreneurship leveraging cognitive and linguistic approaches such as framing. She has received the 2014 Heizer Dissertation Award by the Entrepreneurship division. Yuliya has published in such journals as Academy of Management Journal, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of Business Venturing, and Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal. She co-edited special issues on business models and sustainability at the Journal of Cleaner Production and Organization & Environment. She serves as Associate Editor of Long Range Planning and is editorial board member at Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal and Strategic Organization. Originally from Ukraine, she received her PhD from IESE Business School, Spain.
Our participation rate was 21%, about the same as other AOM Divisions.
